NZXT Phantom 820 NAS Server

This monster of a system is used for mass storage, backups and network-attached storage, and it even hosts a Plex media server. It isn’t connected to any kind of display and can only be accessed remotely for any maintenance it requires. It doesn’t require much processing and so it only uses onboard graphics and a stock processor cooling solution.

This system boasts a staggering 8 fans, including two 200mm intake fans, for an incredible amount of cooling. This helps to keep the hard drives as cool as possible since they are accessed frequently by several other devices. This server stores backups from all my other devices as well as plenty of multimedia for entertainment anywhere in the house. It also hosts a Plex server for easy access on devices like smart TVs, TV boxes like Apple TV, tablets and more. It utilizes specialized NAS (network-attached storage) hard drives that have firmware specifically designed to allow multiple devices to access files at the same time without risking file corruption. The drives are also more robust for longer life with frequent or constant file access.
